FUND E-Z is well suited for small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations. Typically installed on premise on desktop or network computers, FUND E-Z now offers cloud hosting as well. FUND E-Z is available in two versions; Basic and Pro, with smaller nonprofits able to easily scale up to the Pro version if necessary.
The Basic version of FUND E-Z offers a standard chart of accounts that can utilize up to 22 characters, with accounts up to 6 characters in length, and other segments up to four characters in length. The custom chart of accounts requires FUND E-Z Pro, and can accommodate up to 100 characters, with each segment up to 10 characters in length.
FUND E-Z handles a variety of financial and nonprofit transaction types including bank reconciliation capability, which includes real time data linking, invoicing and cash disbursements, cash receipts, client billing, and both direct and indirect allocations. There is also a Batch Processing option (in the Pro version) including the ability to auto-create transaction batches as needed.
FUND E-Z offers excellent budgeting capability, with users able to auto-create budgets from historical data, edit budgets manually or upgrade all budgets in groups. Users can also view all budgets for up to 24 months, and create budget segments that cross fiscal years.
For nonprofits that need to track donor and fundraising activity, FUND E-Z also offers a Fundraising program that manages donors, gifts, and pledges, with the ability to record gifts to a variety of campaigns, appeals, and sub-appeals. There is also a mail merge function that allows users to complete direct mail campaigns if desired. Users can easily track separate grant funds, creating a separate fund and related budgets for each grant managed in the system.
FUND E-Z’s Basic edition offers direct allocation capability, with users able to allocate transactions across a variety of funds, accounts, or cost centers. Allocations can be made by fixed percentage, unit of measure, or direct amount. The Pro version of the product also offers Indirect Allocation capability, which includes the ability to transfer period ending balances between account segments. A forced balancing feature is also included in FUND E-Z, so accounts will always be in balance.
FUND E-Z utilizes five levels of security for each system function, with the ability to create rights globally or by individual module. System users can be assigned system rights individually, or administrators can add them to a group with similar access rights.
FUND E-Z offers a solid selection of reporting options, including a good selection of dashboard reporting options, with users able to create an unlimited number of dashboards. All FUND E-Z reports offer complete drill-down capability, and users can easily customize reports as needed, including across fiscal years and reports by segment. The product also processes all nonprofit specific reports including FASB 117 financial statements. Form 990 worksheets can also be created in FUND E-Z as well. All reports can be exported to Microsoft Excel, to a CSV format, or saved as an HTML file or as a PDF.

Additional modules such as a custom Chart of Accounts function, Purchase Orders and Encumbrances, and Indirect Allocations are available in the Pro version of the product.
Using the Tools function, FUND E-Z users can easily import data from Excel or from text files, including data files such as journal entries, cash disbursements, invoices, bills, clients, vendors, donors and budgets.
