FUND E-Z from FUND E-Z Development Corp. is best suited for small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations. FUND E-Z offers both on-premise and cloud-hosted deployment and is currently offered in two versions: Basic and Pro, with smaller nonprofits able to easily scale up to the Pro version if necessary.
The Basic version of FUND E-Z includes a standard chart of accounts that can utilize up to 22 characters, with accounts supporting up to six characters in length, while other segments can be up to four characters in length. For those requiring a more custom account structure, the Pro version handles up to 100 characters, with each segment up to 10 characters in length.
FUND E-Z easily handles a variety of financial and nonprofit transactions including invoicing, cash receipts, cash disbursements, client billing, bank reconciliation, and both direct and indirect allocations. A Batch Processing option is also available in the Pro version of FUND E-Z that allows users to auto create batches as needed. The product offers good budgeting capabilities including the ability to create a budget based on historical data, as well as the ability to edit individual budgets manually or update budgets in groups. Users also have the ability to view budgets for up to 24 months and create budget segments across fiscal years.
FUND E-Z includes a Fundraising program that allows users to easily manage donors, gifts, and pledges, as well as manage campaigns and appeals. A mail merge function is also included that can be used for direct mail campaigns. Multiple grant funds can be tracked and separate budgets created for each grant.
The basic edition of FUND E-Z offers good allocation ability, with users able to allocate system transactions by fixed percentage, unit of measure, or direct amount. The Pro version of FUND E-Z also offers indirect allocation capability, including the ability to transfer ending balances between account segments. There is also a forced balancing feature included in FUND E-Z, so accounts will always remain in balance.
FUND E-Z offers excellent system security, with the ability to create user rights on a global level across all system modules or by individual module if desired. Users can be assigned access individually or as part of a group that offers similar rights. The product also offers a good selection of reporting options, with a variety of dashboard reports available. All FUND E-Z reports offer complete drill-down capability, with users able to easily customize all system reports as needed. The product also offers nonprofit specific reports including FASB 117 financial statements, and Form 990 worksheets can also be created in FUND E-Z as well. All reports can be exported to Microsoft Excel, to a CSV format, or saved as an HTML file or as a PDF.
FUND E-Z is a modular application, with all modules designed to seamlessly integrate. GL, Bank Reconciliation, Dashboards, AP, AR, Client Billing and Sales, Direct Allocations, and Security and Tools modules are included in the Basic version of FUND E-Z. Additional modules are available in the Pro version of FUND E-Z including a custom Chart of Accounts function, Purchase Orders and Encumbrances, and Indirect Allocations.
A Tools function allows users to easily import data from Microsoft Excel or from text files, making it easy to import data files such as invoices, cash receipts, client and vendor lists, donor information, and budgets. Data can also be exported to Excel or to a CSV file, or saved as an HTML file or as a PDF.
FUND E-Z users can access product support by entering an assigned code that is received once the product is purchased. There are also a variety of training classes available, with classes running $295.00 each. A maintenance plan is required for the first year and includes unlimited telephone support, free access to the FUND E-Z support center, and all subsequent software updates and revisions. The maintenance plan runs $495.00 per year. A 30-day demo is also available for those interested in the application.
FUND E-Z is best suited for small to mid-sized nonprofit organizations that are looking for a scalable application that can grow with their organization. FUND E-Z is available as an on-premise application as well as a cloud-based product, and is currently available in two versions; Basic and Pro, with the Basic application starting at $1,995 for a single user system.
