Accounting Thought Leaders to Meet During AICPA ENGAGE Conference
The event will be the first time the 40 Under 40 honorees and participants of the annual Thought Leader Symposium will come together, engaging on issues critical to the profession.
May. 31, 2023
More than 30 of the accounting profession’s most respected thought leaders and influencers will gather and participate in round table discussions and breakout sessions in advance of the AICPA ENGAGE conference.
Hosted by CPA Practice Advisor editor-in-chief Gail Perry, CPA, the event will be the first time the 40 Under 40 honorees and participants of the annual Thought Leader Symposium will come together, engaging on issues critical to the profession. The sessions will be held at the Aria Hotel and Casino conference center in Las Vegas on June 4, 2023.
It will begin with an open discussion around the topic of generative AI processes such as ChatGPT, and their impact on the accounting profession. Attendees will also discuss:
- What is changing or what changes do we anticipate in the profession?
- What isn’t changing but needs to change?
- What needs to happen specifically in the accounting profession?
- What will facilitate these changes?
- What can we as members of this group (and our extended group of colleagues who were unable to attend) do?
- How do we see our year ahead unfolding in terms of visibility – speaking/writing/teaching engagements – and how can we shape our output to advance these areas of change?
The profession is currently facing several key issues, for which the thought leaders will provide insight and actionable practice management planning tips.
- AI transformation beyond generative platforms
- New trends in advisory services
- DEI
- ESG
- Higher education and the 150-hour rule
- Staffing issues
