The Bonadio Group, a nationally ranked accounting firm, has announced the results of its second annual “The Big Give” fundraising campaign, including nearly $25,000 of donations, 1,250 staff volunteer hours, and support to over 50 non-profit organizations across the firm’s national footprint. The fundraising campaign, which ran from October 1 through December 31, 2023, encouraged employees to raise money for an organization of their choice by earning a $20 cash grant from the Bonadio Foundation for each volunteer hour they dedicated to supporting the cause.
The campaign also included a friendly competition among small teams. Funds earned by the top three teams were matched by The Bonadio Group in tiers based on the team’s ranking: triple the funds that the first-place team earned, double the funds earned by the second-place team, and a 150% match of the amount awarded to the third-place team. Benefitting organizations include FeedMore of WNY Foundation, Hospice of Central New York, Ugandan Water Project, St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, and several more.
“Following a very successful inaugural campaign, bringing back and significantly expanding The Big Give for a second year is a testament to the dedication of The Bonadio Group to making positive impacts in the communities where we live and work,” said Bruce Zicari, CEO and managing partner of The Bonadio Group. “We look forward to growing this new initiative year over year to reach more organizations in need and empower our staff to continue seeking new ways to support causes they are passionate about.”
Created in 2022 to support Purpose Day, the firmwide annual day of volunteering, The Big Give program was initially a one-month long campaign during the month of August. By the end of the month, staff at The Bonadio Group had completed nearly 200 hours of community service and raised $3,785 in cash grants to benefit 15 different organizations across New York State.
“We were inspired by the efforts and enthusiasm of our staff throughout our 2022 campaign, and we wanted to find new ways to build on our impact in 2023,” said Kelsey Dempsey, Principal in The Bonadio Group’s Assurance Service Line and lead organizer of The Big Give. “By adding a team-centric element to the most recent campaign, we were able to significantly enhance our fundraising efforts while tying in critical elements of camaraderie and collaboration that make up our firm’s culture.”
