Becker, a provider of accounting exam prep and professional education, has launched tax representation training in partnership with Tax Rep Network, an education and training resource for tax and accounting professionals. The training will include webcasts and on-demand continuing professional education (CPE) courses for tax practitioners and firms looking to expand their services and represent taxpayers in front of the IRS. The first webcasts are now available for registration and purchase through Becker’s catalog and website.
“Becker is thrilled to announce this partnership with Tax Rep Network as part of our commitment to meeting the educational needs of tax practitioners across the accounting profession,” said Angie Brown, vice president of product development at Becker. “This new partnership makes tax resolution training accessible to thousands of CPAs and enrolled agents, making it easier to take on clients who need representation in front of the IRS.”
According to research, there are more than 15 million taxpayers that owe back balances to the IRS; approximately 12 million in the IRS Collection Division inventory and over three million assigned to private debt-collectors. The IRS can levy 3.2 million taxpayers immediately, and automated enforcement will soon begin on the 2021 and prior balances due.
“With today’s increased IRS enforcement, there is no better time for tax practitioners to learn about the IRS enforcement process and how to identify opportunities to help clients resolve tax issues,” said Eric Green, founder of Tax Rep Network and partner at Green and Sklarz, LLC a Connecticut-based law firm. “Partnering with Becker is an exciting way to offer our expertise in tax representation services to help expand this strategic opportunity to more accounting firms to grow their revenue while supporting clients.”
Those interested in learning about the new tax representation training or providing tax representation training to their staff can access webcasts and receive CPE or IRS-approved continuing education credit through Becker. Topics will include: IRS Enforcement of Individuals, Examinations of Cash-Intensive Businesses, IRS Collection Process, the Inside Secrets to Tax-Liens. New webcasts will be added monthly.
Corporate CPE clients will have access to tax resolution webcasts and on-demand courses at no additional charge and can purchase access to the Tax Rep Network Gold Membership and schedule customized training events for their staff.
Webcasts and on-demand courses will launch in Becker’s Prime subscription and will begin this August. A new subscription for enrolled agents is launching in September. For more information and to sign up for the webcasts and on-demand courses, visit https://www.becker.com/cpe/catalog.
