The report analyzes data integration challenges, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), essential shifts in cloud computing, and the ongoing impact of staffing and skills challenges across the finance and accounting sectors.

The integration plans include combining Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Statutory Reporting and SAP Sustainability Control Tower, enabling customers to prepare, gather, and file ESG data seamlessly within a unified solution.

The importance of dedicated sustainability management and reporting solutions is underscored by the significant role real estate and equipment leases play in many organizations' overall budget and carbon footprint.

The report highlights the firm’s efforts to integrate sustainability across its business through strategies that improve resilience, enhance inclusivity and encourage accountability. 

The six-week course, ESG and Sustainable Financial Strategy, is designed to give accounting and finance professionals the skills necessary to lead their organization’s response to sustainable business priorities.

Of companies that reported that they apply ESG targets, 84% said that they apply them to the management board. These targets set the strategic direction of the company for its board members.

The IIA noted the importance of transparency in order to provide confidence to all stakeholders, including the public.

The rule “moves us closer to the high-quality reporting that investors, lenders, and other stakeholders require,” the AICPA and CIMA said.
